Organizers for Behavioral Observations


The organizer uses visual display to identify areas that need to be addressed in all observations as well as potential areas of strength and weakness that will clearly identify areas of concern, areas of strength, and possible intervention strategies that may be recommended. Due to its focus on efficiency, the organizer reduces report writing time by as much as two hours when used during an evaluation or to produce a written summary of an observation in the classroom.

Behavioral observations are extremely important in the assessment process to place the data or "numbers" into a context that is meaningful for the individual being evaluated. The most common practice of recording behavioral observations is to make notations on the test protocol. This practice adds hours to the time required to interpret the results and write a report because the information is scattered rather than organized. The visual organizers in this system are called "wheels" and the use of these advance organizers will reduce the time factor considerably because the observations are tracked and organized simultaneously.
