SAT/ACT Instruction

Preparing for the PSAT/SAT/ACT is an important step on the path to successful college admission.

Our Regular SAT or ACT Class, whether conducted as a group class (regular and honors levels available for SAT classes) or on an individual basis, is designed and presented as strategy sessions.

While each class does include skills review beyond the basic level, its primary objective is to build a successful strategy for test taking. At the first class meeting, each student receives a practice book and a folder of information. Inside the folder are the test strategy guidelines, class assignments and a list of important vocabulary words for the SAT.

Each class meeting ends with an assignment to reinforce skills and should be completed before the next class meeting.

All books and materials are provided. Students are required to bring a calculator to each class session.

Instructors:

Carolyn Scanniello (owner/instructor) started her SAT business in 1990. She is a graduate of the University of Richmond with a BA in History and a Masters of Education specializing in learning disabilities. She has tutored SAT preparation skills individually and in small groups for over 25 years.

Kristen Holland (instructor) started with our organization in 2003. She is a graduate of the University of Virginia with a BA in Chemistry and a Masters of Teaching in Secondary Education.

Chris Scanniello (instructor) started with our organization in 2009. He is a graduate of Virginia Tech with a BS in Industrial and Systems Engineering and is returning to student instruction. He conducts all sections of the Regular and Honors SAT and ACT classes (group and individual) as well as works with students in all other classes offered.

Melissa Radtke (instructor) started with our organization in 2008 and conducts the Critical Reading course.

Chris Perry (instructor) started with our organization in 2009. He is a graduate of the University of Mary Washington with a BS in Business Administration. He has corporate training experience and conducts the Pre-Strategy Math Skills Review course.

**Special Note: Students who miss Sunday, April 17 because of Spring Break can use Thursday, April 14(905MY) as session 2 in the West End or Wednesday, April 13(102MY) as session 2 in Midlothian.
